Business Continuity

At Hurix, on starting of a new project, a directory is created on the file server by system administrators. All project data is stored in a file server. When projects are completed the data is cut onto CD-ROMs and store with QPG. Hurix uses NAS server for secondary storage. Every night the data from the file server is replicated on the NAS server. When the data hard disk of the NAS server is full, it is copied onto a spare hard disk for off site storage. NAS server is kept outside the server room. Every day backup of file server's project directories is taken on DLT tape drive. In addition, every weekend a full backup of projects directories are taken on DLT tape drive. Similarly, every first Friday of the month a full backup of projects directories are taken on DLT tape drive. Weekly backup DLT tapes are overwritten after 4 weeks. Every quarterly, the monthly backup DLT tapes are archived in off site location. The Solaris server which captures the timesheets and data from HurixNet are copied to the tapes via DAT Tape drive attached to the file server on a daily basis. Every night a export of Oracle database is done on Solaris server. After this, the dump files and log file is transferred to the NAS Server.
