Data Infrastructure at Facebook is responsible for storing and processing incredibly large amounts of data which power all the systems in Facebook. As a Manager in Facebook’s Data Infrastructure team, you will lead development for various aspects of these systems. You will work with an extremely talented team of engineers to develop innovative services that enable richer and faster product development and that allow Facebook to continuously scale to support the rapid user growth and ever expanding feature set.

Job Profile:

Develop and execute the technical roadmap to handle the exponential growth demands of the most highly trafficked web sites and one of the largest storage systems in the world (over one billion active users and over 100PB of data)

Lead architecture and development of large-scale distributed data storage systems that continuously support the rapid and massive usage and scale
Foster bottom-up flow of ideas and initiatives while prioritizing, communicating and driving the roadmap
Continue to build, mentor and scale a highly technical software engineering team
Ensure engineering and operations teams are working closely and collaboratively as one team
Execute on projects with crisp goals, timelines and requirements

Eligibility:

Intense passion for building massively scalable infrastructure
Expert experience in several sub-domains such as storage systems, distributed file systems, distributed databases, data integration.
Track record in designing and delivering robust, massive scale software infrastructure
Proven ability to handle and prioritize needs across multiple projects in parallel
Exceptional communicator who leads and contributes to highly technical 
discussions
Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage and scale large technical software organizations
Excellent mentor/coach and skilled at career development of strong technical engineers and managers
Strong proficiency in Java and familiarity with open source systems like Apache Hadoop and MySQL is preferred
