Business Continuity


Gecis has a well-defined BCP process in place. BCP solution design is an integral part of the Gecis transition methodology. Based on the criticality of the process and client requirements, the BCP design is agreed upon as a part of the deal. Gecis has a dedicated BCP team headed by a Crisis Management Leader. The BCP command center at each site, takes control in case of any crisis.

Risk Management:

Our key Servers are all IBM Branded Servers. We have avoided the risk of buying unbranded Servers and opted for reliable and secure Servers.

We have hosted our Key Mail Server in Rack space Managed Hosting, one of the pioneer web hosting company in US.  Uptime of servers are 99.9%.  We have avoided the risk of hosting the mail servers locally, which may result in loss of important mails.

We use Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition as our antivirus software, which is one of the best Antivirus solution providers in the world.  We are not affected by virus for the last 5 years.
 We use Linux Servers as Gateway, Mail, Proxy, DNS and Firewall. So we are well protected from virus and hacking of key Servers

 We use Cisco products for our Routers, which is the best provider of network products.

We have our Internet Connectivity with VSNL, which is the best Internet Service Provider in India.
Our entire Office is fully Air-conditioned and Server Rooms are maintained at 20-22 degree temperature, which is essential for servers.

Disaster Recovery:·   
We have configured RAID 1 and RAID 5 in all the Servers to ensure in case of any Hardware failures data can be retrieved without any loss.
We have scheduled a backup plan. Daily we take backup of all our key servers into our Backup Server.  Every weekend we take backup in DVD - Read/Write. Every Month end we take backup in DVD-R.
Weekly backup we have a retention period of one month. Monthly backup is retained for 5 Years.
Backup routines are automated using Scripts and the status of Backup will be mailed to the System Administrators.
Apart from this we have configured a mirror server. All the important data from the File Server will be mirrored to the Mirror Server every Three Hours. We
