In December 2004, GE reached an agreement with two leading private-equity firms, General Atlantic Partners and Oak Hill Capital Partners, under which the firms acquired a major stake in Gecis, making it the largest business-process services organization headquartered in India serving GE as well as other global corporations.

Business Continuity


Gecis has a well-defined BCP process in place. BCP solution design is an integral part of the Gecis transition methodology. Based on the criticality of the process and client requirements, the BCP design is agreed upon as a part of the deal. Gecis has a dedicated BCP team headed by a Crisis Management Leader. The BCP command center at each site, takes control in case of any crisis.
Gecis conducts 2 types of Tests to ensure BCP –
Hot Tests – Quarterly
Hot Tests are conducted to check for readiness of recovery seats for production. It also checks for the readiness of the required software applications.
Cold Tests – Monthly
These tests are conducted to check local applications on identified locations/machines for identified Processes.
