CGI India was established in 1990 with global development centers in Bangalore and Mumbai, both certified SEI CMM Level 5 and ISO 9001:2000. CGI is a pioneer of the offshore software industry in India and is managed by a team of professionals, each having an average of over 20 years of experience in the software industry in India and abroad. CGI India provides a full range of IT services including, consulting, system integration and management of business and IT functions. Business Continuity
The company's business continuity plan and disaster recovery mechanism is based on leveraging our unique de-risking characteristics of our global delivery model. The company has interconnected global development centers all of which are connected through high-speed data/voice link’s using multiple service providers ensuring multiple paths to each GDC, ISDN backup from and to every location, alternate/backup site, fully configured backup routers. Its Bangalore and Mumbai centers are interconnected ensuring route diversity. The company has an internet link of 1 MB as a backup, with wireless for last mile connectivity. CGI has built in ability to quickly establish key communication channels for “safe mode” operations that can be activated in the event of disaster, to run key applications preferably from a remote location to keep important communications and interests alive. The CGI corporate network has redundancy built-in for all client connections. Apart from connectivity, CGI has a policy of regular backups for telecommunication, storage, data management and retrieval, with redundancies in the physical and virtual infrastructure layers. CGI’s Bangalore and Mumbai locations have a separate command center. The command center serves as the central site for coordinating and monitoring recovery operations. The command center is equipped with essential infrastructure for communication and management such as telephone, fax, desktop, internet connectivity, etc. The team members of the recovery team have been provided with multiple modes of communication (mobile/WLL and landline).

CGI India’s two Delivery Centers in Mumbai and Bangalore are connected via IPLC lines to NoC in Andover, USA. Bangalore is connected via 2 MB IPLC via Pacific and Mumbai via Atlantic route. Mumbai and Bangalore are interconnected via VSNL 512 KB line to avoid single point of failure. Two ODC’s have capacity of 1200 workstations. Our File/Print servers run Novell. Application Development Servers supported are Sun-Solaris, Microsoft, Linux and AIX.
