Software Developer

Desired Candidate Profile

• Over 2 years of programming experience including experience from internships, cooperatives, or class projects that involve design, development, testing, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge in two or more of the following programming languages: ASP 3.5, VB6, VB.NET, C, C#, C++, C, CLR and other runtime environments
• Experience with Windows XP and 2003 Server operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 database.
• Basic understanding of system structure, modules, and basic business reasons behind system functionality.
• Basic understanding of software development and the tools specific to a development task required.
• Demonstrates understanding of system life cycle methodology.
• Basic understanding of database table relationship or Indexed and Sequential file access methods.
• Knowledge of proper coding techniques, software design patterns and .net frameworks.
• Familiar with common testing tools and test as instructed/directed.
• Familiarity with test driven development and MBUnit are preferred.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and GIS are preferred.
• Ability to follow source code documentation standards.
• Ability to use spreadsheet program to create or analyze data.
• Ability to effectively utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to operate copier, fax, phone, and other office equipment as needed.

Job Description

1. Participate in the requirements, design, coding, review, and testing phases of the software development process.
2. Develop and design basic programs utilizing one more of the programming languages listed below using relational databases and other data storage architectures.
3. Perform unit level testing for all software written and assists quality assurance and other teams with test plans and testing for system integration, performance and scalability.
4. Facilitate the review of own software and software designs by other staff.
5. Develop and maintain technical competencies as defined by departmental management.
6. Provide services in a professional manner, adhering to all CHR Solutions standards as identified in the Employee Handbook, the performance evaluation system, and other company and departmental programs and policies.
7. Identify, meet and/or exceed client expectations within defined parameters related to delivery of services, quality, revenue, and sales goals.
8. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management, and based on the needs of the business
9. Develop and maintain technical competencies as defined by departmental management.
