Mainframe Network Software Systems Programmer
7+ years experience as a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer with Program Product Installation experience.
CCNA Certification preferred but not required or equivalent work experience with routers
IBM COMM SERVER (VTAM and TCPIP)
IBM Enterprise Extender / Extended Border Node
OSPF, EIGRP, VIPA, APPN, HPR/IP, EBN, EE, IP/DLC, SNA, APPN and Subarea Routing
IBM OSA Adapter (QDIO and NON-QDIO)
ESCON/FICON Channel-to-Channel Connectivity
IBM Netview
CA NETSPY
Secure FTP TSL/SSL and TN3270e
IBM GTF and CTRACE Tracing/Reading
IBM REXX
IBM Assembler
IBM TSO/ISPF
IBM Utilities (Code /Correct JCL, Catalog Structures, VSAM Utilities)
IBM JCL Experience
IBM SMPE Experience
IBM z/OS Operating Environment
Experience with Cisco Routers (CSNA , CLAW, DLSW, SNAsw)
Provide 7 x 24 x 365 Oncall Rotation
Ability to work off hours and weekends to support changes and resolve problems
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Proficient Problem Determination Skills – VTAM, TCPIP, APPN, SNA, SNAsw and DLSW
Proficient is being able to review system logs, identification of errors and effectively determine problem and resolve issue
Session Manager Program Product Installation and Customization (CA TPX, IBM CL/Supersession etc)
VTAM and TCPIP Customization
Understanding of Protocol Routing – Mainframes, Routers, Switches, Firewalls
Vendor interaction experience
Resolve Batch Abends – Problem determination, message identification
Proficient with Product Installations, Applying Maintenance, Customization, Configuration
English skills – Verbal, Reading, Writing Comprehension
Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks and projects
Experienced with performing Disaster Recovery (system backups and restore, creation of DR plans)
Top level support experience with troubleshooting, researching and resolving complex issues
