Brief Profile
Dax Networks Limited, an Apcom company, was born in 1986. Its involvement with the IT industry, through its ex-IBM management team, goes back to 1971. After IBM's closure in 1978, the company was involved in consultancy and turnkey projects before starting manufacturing operations in 1986. Dax pioneered the use of cartridge tape drives in India and were for years known as the “Backup People”. In 1988, Dax saw a major growth opportunity to connect India and diversified into networking. By end-1990, Dax was clearly the leading LAN products suppliers and was regarded as the 'LAN Expert' in India. By 1992, Dax LAN products viz. NICs and Hubs had become the de-facto standard in India. Thereafter, Dax has consistently added new networking product lines and is currently engineering its products from leading technology manufacturing companies, like Perle for UNIX connectivity, Routers and Remote Access solutions since 1992, Eicon Technologies for WAN and ISDN products since 1994, Nordx/CDT for end-to-end structured cabling since 1995 and Patton for enterprise leased line solutions. In 1999, Dax launched SOHOHO (SOHO+Home)/internet related products, initially modems followed by other networking and internet products. Today, Dax is an ISO certified services company offering the widest networking product range including the latest enterprise Routers & Switches, VoIP, Wireless, VPN and other new networking technologies. Dax continues to be technically the most respected OEM vendor in the country. Dax technology distribution network is extensively utilised by all computer OEMs, VARs, Distributors, Dealers and solutions providers. Over two-thirds of professionals and managers are technically qualified and have been with us for over a decade.
