Business Continuity
Covansys has a structured business continuity plan to ensure continuity of operations from primary or alternate site, depending on the contingency and availability of site. Covansys has designed a redundant high reliability/availability network and infrastructure for supporting the business from the alternate site. Individual components in Covansys framework are Networks (the architecture has failover redundancy to take care of connectivity options from any of the Covansys communication centers in US and India), and, backup and restore (regular backups are taken from the servers hosted in data center in Chennai and sent to alternate sites in India and US). There are three phases in the recovery strategy. Phase1 comprises of move operations to the recovery backup site upon declaration of disaster and back-up site support provided on a priority basis. Phase II comprises of recover/restore critical Covansys business functions, test and restore business critical network connectivity, and prepare workstations and servers. Phase III comprises of restore business and customer applications via backup tapes or redundant systems, restore Covansys business services, and restore project services depending on requirements. Personnel are the key assets and Covansys will make them available at alternate site to support the projects. Project specific Business continuity plans are designed specifically for each customer and addresses the key resources to work on the projects/engagements. The main development facilities in India are well secured against loss of critical services to the customer. However, Covansys India can further provide Offshore Development Center (ODC) risk management to customers with customer service from multiple ODC locations, and customer service from primary ODC with stand by resources at alternate ODC location.
