The aim of this to recover critical business activities within the minimum period; to maintain minimum acceptable service to customers; and to recover all operations back to normal. It involves establishing operations at an alternative location; and arranging the minimum resources necessary to resume initial business operations within the shortest possible time. The approach followed by the company involves formation of a crisis management team, which includes key personnel of the customer and iGATE. The team identifies all mission critical applications with the required SLA (“minimum recovery period” and “full recovery period”), gathers minimum recovery period and full recovery period parameters, gathers information on delivery components for each area for each mission critical application, identifies Failure Mode Effect Analysis gaps for every parameter, puts in place controls for delivery components for each of the areas of facility, people, network/information systems and supplier chain, develops template for BCP simulation to verify the effectiveness, and prepares an action sheet for all key individuals involved in BCP.
