Business Continuity

An actionable disaster recovery plan for site outage is in place to address all business continuity needs. The business continuity and disaster recovery plans are mock tested to ensure quick recovery in case of a breakdown. All tests are documented and compared against set standards.  Proactive steps are taken by the company to prevent the occurrence of any event. These actions ensure that, in the eventuality of an unlikely event, the impact on operations is minimal.  The business continuity plan addresses actions to restore operations at mutually agreed time frames. Depending on the impact of the disaster, measures to contain damage are listed along with the person responsible for carrying out the same.  The disaster recovery plan addresses issues and actions that need to be taken to ensure total recovery.
Measures to ensure continuity include mirroring of hard disks in real-time mode; backup center is located in a different building with duplicated hardware/ software and connectivity; production/accumulated data files are transferred and applied to the disaster recovery site once a day; cold backups of the production file systems are restored at the disaster recovery site, once a week or whenever software is changed; redundant lines are maintained to provide for connectivity failures; power failure recovery is provided through backup generators and battery backups. The BCP plan is reviewed every six months and updated whenever the systems, operational procedures, infrastructure, business processes are changed. The plan is also reviewed whenever a new business process is implemented, modified, new systems rolled out or when systems are changed.
