American Power Conversion (APC) entered India in late 1993 through a liaison office in Chennai. In 1998, American Power Conversion India Pvt Ltd was incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of APC. In 1999, APC opened a 35000 sq. ft. global manufacturing facility in Bangalore to serve local demand as well as to supply to international markets. In 2000, a software development centre was set up in Bangalore to support APC's worldwide information systems requirements.
